All students, faculty and staff at JGU are automatically eligible for Global Library membership through a formal registration procedure at the Library Service Desk. The same ID card which you get from the JGU IT will be your Global Library card as well.



There is some information required to take a membership of Global Library. (a)Valid JGU ID card. (b)Valid JGU e-mail ID. (c) Your Phone No.

Lending collection, circulation, and staff operated services, Monday - Sunday 9:00 AM to 10.00 PM,Global Reading Hall 24 hours, all days.



In the event of loss or theft of the Library Card, the Members should immediately inform the User Services Desk at the Library for disabling the lost card. A duplicate card can be issued from JGU IT after approval from Library.



Members should report the loss of library books borrowed by them immediately on the discovery of such loss. Members will have an option to replace the book or pay the price of the book.
• In case of replacement of books, only the latest edition of the same imprint will be accepted. Indian/cheaper reprint of foreign publications will not be accepted as a replacement.
• If a member chooses to pay the price of the book, the current publisher catalog price shall be charged.
• If the lost book is a volume or part of a multi-volume set of which individual volumes cannot be purchased separately, such member shall have to pay the cost of the whole set. In such cases, the member will be allowed to claim the remaining parts or volumes of the set.
• For the above cases, you have to pay overdue fines if you have them on your account.

No, you can not renew the library materials online. For renew the materials you can contact to the library service desk.

Use self-check-in /check-out Kiosk in library. Carry your valid library card, Follow the instructions on the kiosk OR contact library helpdesk.



Simply visit the bookshelf as per call no. of the book. In case of any difficulty in locating the book, kindly contact the service desk staff.



A patron can place the online request for the new items through Koha. Library may procure the same and once the request items procured by the library, the user may receive a system-generated acknowledgement about the same.



Users will receive system-generated mail once, on their registered mail-id. The Library also send the reminders of overdue books from time to time to its user.



If a particular book required by a member has already been lent to another member, such member may request the same to be kept on hold on return by the previous member. A member can have maximum 5 on-hold requests at any time.



Library Card is not transferable and must be used by the person to whom these are issued. Only you can use your library card to check out library materials. If the items are not returned. You are responsible for the items checked out on your card. Exceptions to the rule are with long term disability or illness. You may permit someone else to check out materials on your behalf.

All faculty members can borrow the book on interlibrary loan. If the Library does not have any copy of an item required by a patron, and it is not possible to procure a new copy for the permanent collection, a patron can request to the library to obtain the same on interlibrary loan, if available in some other library

Most of the books subscribed by Global Library can be accessed through Remote Access details given on the library website. However, every e-book has different access based on the type of subscription. For details please check the User Guides on the library website



Most books can be kept out for a month. Other material, like DVDs and Reserves, needs to be returned sooner. For detailed information on loan periods and fines, see: Rule & Regulation



By depositing a JGU ID card, registered library user can borrow the Kindle device and headphone for reference purpose only.



Yes, library users can see the borrowed items due date and can also place the online request for new books using their Koha credentials shared by the library.



Online hold request can be initiated through Koha Login ID
• If a particular book required by a member has already been lent to another member, such member may request the same to be kept on hold on return by the previous member. Books having a pending on-hold request shall not be renewed to the previous borrower.
• A member can have a maximum of 5 on-hold requests at any time.
• On return of the on-hold requested books by the previous borrower, such books shall be kept on hold for 7 days, after which the books will be shelved on the regular shelf.
• No member shall be allowed to have more than 5 books reserved at any time.

Generally, it is advised that kindly don’t bring the checkout book and personal book to the library but there is no restriction on this. You can bring both the checkout book as well as your own book but at the time of exit, kindly get it checked at the library entry gate.



Global Library issue the Moot Card only for international Moot. The Patron should have Moot Court Passport form, that may contain all information Ex. Name of the international moot court competition, expiry date, name of all the participants and this passport form, duly signed by the faculty coordinator.



Moot court cardholder has a limit of 10 books (No short loan and reference books will be issued on this card). Liabilities of the books and fine will be on the Moot team leader.



Only JGU students, faculty, and staff may place the request for the recall of library items. To recall a book, it must be checked out in the system. Library authorities will recall such items and inform the user about the availability of the same.



There is a self-check-in or check-out system. You can come to the Global Library and return your item. If you are not able to come, then someone can return the item on your behalf.



Users will receive a text message or email on the registered numbers and email address. Users may write back to confirm at glus@jgu.edu.in
