This study identifies a significant redactional tendency whereby the compilers of the ""Kephalaia"" sought to clarify ambiguities in a oecanonicala Manichaean tradition by means of five-part numerical series, thereby challenging the conventional wisdom of Manichaean scholarship about the consistency of Manichaean doctrine.
