N2  - This book is a survey of the role of design in the protection and development of a cultural diversity still alive in the many productive areas of Italy. The "progetto memore" analysed in the text, is that of an identity continually investigated and rethought; an identity in the making that questions itself against the mutations of the contemporary to restart where modernity has undermined its bases. The book is also about the definition of a design and cultural movement that nowadays involves the discipline in its many fields.
