Das 1939 herausgegebene zweib�ndige ,Deutsche St�dtebuch. Handbuch st�dtischer Geschichte' wurde bald zu einem Standardwerk f�r die lokale Stadtgeschichte, die vergleichende St�dteforschung oder die Lehre an Universit�ten und Schulen, zumal es in den letzten Jahrzehnten wesentlich erweitert f�r einzelne Bundesl�nder neu bearbeitet wurde. Das St�dtebuch strukturiert alle Artikel nach einer einheitlichen Gliederung, die in 20 �bergeordneten Punkten die wichtigsten Fakten zur Stadt bietet; unter anderem wird �ber Namen, Ursprung, geografische Lage, Rechtswesen, Wirtschaft, Verwaltung, Herrschaftsverh�ltnisse, Finanzen, Religion und Bildungswesen informiert. Das ,St�dtebuch Historisches Ostbrandenburg' erg�nzt das 2000 ver�ffentlichte ,St�dtebuch Brandenburg und Berlin' um die St�dte �stlich von Oder und Nei�e, die 1939 zur Provinz Brandenburg geh�rten. Die Artikel enthalten reiche Angaben zu allen Bereichen des st�dtischen Lebens und ber�cksichtigen auch umfassend die polnische Entwicklung von 1945 bis zur Gegenwart. |
