Summary, etc	Die Luftfahrt machte während des Ersten Weltkriegs einen grossen Entwicklungsschritt. Nach Kriegsende standen Flugzeuge, Infrastruktur und ausgebildetes Personal zur Verfügung, was erstmals einen planmässigen und gewerblichen Luftverkehr ermöglichte. Dieser drehte sich in seinen Anfängen in erster Linie um die Beförderung von Luftpost. Die Autorin untersucht die Organisation, das Angebot, die Nachfrage und die Finanzierung des Schweizer Luftpostverkehrs - und erläutert, weshalb der Staat das unrentable Geschäft in hohem Masse unterstützte und somit überhaupt aufrechterhielt.
