The textbook "The Cultural History of Rossiya (Russia)" addressed to foreign students of the level A2-B2 is a brief discussion of the Russian cultural, scientific, artistic contributions to the universal culture of our civilization. The authors used the concept approach when selecting the materials for this textbook. They chose the facts, the names, the cultural events that had a defining role in forming the image of modern Rossiya (Russia). The textbook gives a retrospective coverage of the topics related to the main course of development of Russian cultural history: Slavic pagan history, the role of Christianity in the genesis of the Russian literary language and Russian classical literature; development of trades and crafts, urban development, creation of original artistic schools. The book is discussing the role of Russian literature, theater, cinematography, visual arts, music, science, philosophy and humanities in the world culture. A separate chapter is dedicated to geography and ethnography of modern Rossiya (Russia). The authors emphasized those Russian facts, persons, scientific and artistic schools that are widely known in the world. The provided translation into Czech language of difficult words and the key accent marks would facilitate for students the reading of the original Russian text. The textbook provides questions and assignments for classes and homework. Sample paper topics are proposed for students at the end of each chapter. The textbook is supplied with a Name Index, Subject Index, References, and Recommended Reading. There is an expanded electronic version of the textbook including additional color illustrations and music pieces. The electronic version includes expanded assignments which enhances the methodological content. The textbook can be addressed to university, college and high school students, teachers, persons doing research in culture and ethnography, experts in cross-cultural communication and to all those interested in Slavic history and Russian culture. The authors put in a conscientious effort and did their best to produce an interesting and useful reading
