Ajantrik: The pathetic fallacy is a 1958 Indian Bengali film written and directed by revered parallel filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak. The film is adapted from a Bengali short story of the same name written by Subodh Ghosh.Bimal, a taxi driver, is dedicated to his old and battered 1920 Chevrolet, despite its unreliability. He takes the car to be a living being and even names the car Jagaddal. Working in a small town in Bihar, Bimal watches the Oraon tribe as they struggle with India's modernization.
