Guzaarish is a 2010 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film written, composed and directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Ethan Mascarenhas is one of the greatest magicians of his time. Presently hosting a radio show that spreads magic, hope, and laughter through his wit and humor, it is hard to imagine that he has been immobilized with a spinal injury for the last 14 years. Ethan is aided through by his nurse, Sofia D'Souza. Theirs is a love beautiful in its implicit silence and unwavering in its quiet strength. But on the 14th anniversary of his accident, Ethan makes a decision that challenges their relationship.

Set in 16th century the India film deals with the story of a princess and her servant Maya, who is forever reminded of her subordinate position. It is through her striking beauty and her skills of seduction learnt through the Kama Sutra, the Indian book of love, that Maya exacts her revenge on Tara by seducing her husband on her wedding day thus beginning a destructive struggle for power where revenge is the goal, but tragedy the outcome.
